AfTS has for the last 12 years focused our athletic speed training via human design in terms of lever systems and leverage that take place primarily through the major joints, such as ankle joint and metatarsophalangeal joint. The model AfTS has employed for our athletic speed training programs stemmed for research of the kinematics and movement patterning of the ostrich. The ostrich is the most functionally adapted bipedal creature on the planet built for speed. As compared to humans, the ostrich shares similar anatomical features especially lower limb articulators, joints angles , bone mass, and several muscle types. This comparison lends to observable force, angular torque, stretch reflexes, SSC, power, linear speed etc that can potentially be demonstrated in human movement and locomotion.
College scholarships is our end goal for all our athletes, plain and simple. Parents should not be burdened with school tuition, room/board, ancillary costs and "lunch money". AfTS will train and mentor each athlete like family. My son enjoyed 5 scholarship years as an NCAA football player prior to selecting he had 29 other Division-1 full ride offers. Other athletes who trained via AfTS are or have enjoyed similar opportunities in football and track-n-field alike in the high school levels as well as NCAA and NFL. These opportunities would not have possible if not for the positive attitudes,great work ethics, and an unheard of 89% rate development programs.
We are so excited for our Freshmen athletes at Lake Brantley HS , A.Harris and M. Harris. Also for Kira Deleon at Seminole HS. These athletes competed in track/field for their first ever season, yet recorded the fastest times at their respective school teams. ALL AfTS TRAINED/ FUNCTIONALLY TRAINED.
Continue to.." establish a legacy of scholarship athletes", that's what we stand for and we are getting results.
So far we have 6 scholarship athletes in a year's time!!
Done! AfTS promised Andrew H. that come track and field season the world ,ok the state of florida, will know his name! Andrew wowed the varsity coaches and competed in all major invitational meets. In a later meet , he came first in the 200m event surpassing the "fastest" more tenured senior with a blazing time of 22.47 s (PR). In another he clocked in at a jaw-dropping 10.99s 100m, which was later disqualified because he was in an "unassigned" lane!! (politics do exist in all sports! )

Again our primary focus is functional movement patterning to achieve top-end speed. Andrew believe in our program and stayed true to all our Training concepts. Andrews twin brother although he ran exception of times for a freshman did not achieve this mark because he did not hold true to the Training Concepts.

Most of the athletes are gaining 15 to 20 to 30 pounds of muscle mass through true functional lifts in a few MONTHS!! AfTS's designed lifting program elicits the body's hypertrophy - hyperplasia systems due to tissue remodeling NOT
repairing from improper lifts!

Single- legged hurdles are scientifically proven to improve top-end speed more so than any other form of sprint training...motion analysis shows that in running or sprinting, the legs are in a single-legged position in short frames.
Sprint training should correlate to actual movement patterns observed on the field of play. Safety is always our primary concern here at AfTS. This form of training is safe and functional for any age group. Our youngest athletes are as young as 9 years old. Meet D.

The proper application of one's arm swing is crucial for generating start acceleration and top-speed. The "hammering" position of the hand is vitally important in creating torque and thus linear speed for all athletes.

This is a very obvious video that demonstrates the difference in stepping gait ,cycling of the leg that are not observed in most human sprinters even the fastest football players. This subject was mentioned in our header based on the graph that correlates joint similarities between us and ostriches and at aftsfspeed we queue our athletes through hurdle techniques band training etc to simulate movement patterns observed by the ostrich. The training methodology has been proven highly effective
K. most recently became the fastest athlete on her high school soccer team as a sophomore! K. has been training "functionally" with our program for several months.

Professional, Olympic - Calibre athletes have the cyclic running styles, which is functional and produces optimal push upon ground contact through the hips etc..

I told my son when he was 9 year old that he was going to redefine the "student athlete " ....an intelligent student with incredible athletic ability. Starting from becoming a track sprinter on the football field. we started off functionally with AfTS speed-band and jump rope and the rest is history.
It is obvious that even this 15 years old athete can lift 315 lbs of heavy weights! But, most cant!
We at AfTS teach how to "leverage " any lifts and to produce explosive speed, VERTICAL/Broad Jump and lower BODY muscle mass gain.
